The return of the Pier Road Coffee & Art annual calendar event – January Blues.
Now into its 9th Year, and with a growing number of entrants every year and an increase in categories alongside some fabulous prizes and amazing guest judges.Â
This year will see an extension to the time the work is exhibited in the gallery.
Submission Date: Monday January 5th from 1000 until Saturday January 10th at 1630 (Sunday submission possible by arrangement only and before midday)
Exhibition Start Date: Monday January 12th 2026 (start 1000am)
Exhibition End Date:Â Â Friday January 30th 2026 (ends 1500)

Adult: £16.00
Student: £8.50
Children: £4.00
This fee is the hanging and entry fee.
All work submitted will be exhibited unless it is regarded by the judges as offensive.
Due to the amount of entries we will have to restrict size limit to 60cm x 60 cm or a variation of; chat with Mike & Lucy, for example 90cm x30cm would be fine as its the same amount of cms just in a different way.
All work that is submitted for sale will be sold at an agreed price and the gallery will take 30 % commission. The remainder will be paid via BACs to your account. We only ask for details once an item sells. Please note the increased commission is due to VAT, so 20% of the commission will not go to the gallery only 10%, after deductions the remainder will be paid to you. Consider this when pricing.
Work can be submitted Not For Sale; Any artworks sold the commission will be 35% so build this into your asking price.
If works are sold; normally we ask customers to collect at the end of the exhibition or until after the judges have viewed. In some cases this is not always possible.Â
Venues who sponsor categories will be given the winning piece to exhibit, if they are able to exhibit the work (if sold then the next one available) These will be for sale in the venues also.Â
Public Vote will be held across the gallery visitors and on facebook (in some cases for smaller categories Instagram). These will all be totalled and winner with the majority of votes wins for each category and then the winners of each category will be pitted against each other to find the overall public winner and they will gain the prize.

Payment can be made by personally coming into the gallery or via the website shop, link above. (Please email to confirm you are entering so space can be allocated if you are paying in the gallery)
Space will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Should we have a large amount of entries and we cannot find room for them all then your money will be refunded.
However, you can secure your place by paying the fee in advance of dropping off your work. This will ensure you are included in the final exhibition.Â
There is a limit of 5 pieces per artist for each category. (Each piece is charged at the entry fee, for example 1 piece = £16 and 2 pieces would cost £32 etc
You can enter as many categories as you wish; if you would like to enter the same artwork in two categories for example – Littlehampton and Sussex Views (then you can pay an extra £5 when you drop the work off so it can be logged)
